Livingston vs Rangers Match Analysis and Prediction

Livingston will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten run of five games on Sunday when they welcome league leaders Rangers.

This will mark Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s first game in charge of Rangers in the Scottish Premiership and would definately want to have a good start to keep his team at the top of the league.

Despite sitting just above the relagation zone it the 10th spot, Livingston are heading into this game in an impressive form lately, having put together some excellent performance.

David Martindale’s side have gone five matches unbeaten, though their last three fixtures ended in draws, delaying them from advancing in the division.

Livingstone left it late in the weekend when they encountered St. Mirren, waiting up to the 88th minute when Nicky Devlin scored to leave level.

They have improved in defence lately, having conceded twice in their past three matches, including a clean sheet against Celtic.

However, they have lost in both of their two encounters with Rangers this year, having not scored in both.

Rangers won 3-0 in their last meeting in the league, after which they knocked Livingston out of the Scottish League Cup in the quarter-finals.

However, Rangers were recently displaced from the competition in Bronckhorst’s first game in charge, with a Martin Boyle’s hat-trick putting them into a 3-1 loss.

In their most recent performance, they managed to get back to winning when they faced Sparta Prague in the Europa League, with Alfredo Morelos’ brace confirming the 2-0 victory.

Rangers are currently sitting at the top of the table, but there is only a four-point difference between them and Celtic, pilling pressure in each game.

The Gers have been free-scoring recently in the league, having scored 10 times in their two most recent performances, something that could motivate them enough to secure consecutive victories.

Livingston news

Livingston are likely to maintain their 3-4-2-1 formation on Sunday, which has proven to be successful for them. David Martindale will also be boosted by the fact that Ben Williamson will once again be available in the squad after his suspension.

Rangers news

Kemar Roofe will be missing at the moment after suffering a knock during the international break, but with Alfredo Morelos having scored a brace, there should be enough attacking quality available.

Filip Helander is not available through a knee problem and Nnamdi Ofoborh is yet to be cleared due to his heart condition.

Prediction and Odds

Rangers have recently been in a strong form with their attacking proving to be overwhelming for Livingston, and could repeat on Sunday.

Livingstone have improved recently, however, it is not going to be easy for them to maintain that against Rangers. We predict Rangers to win narrowly or largely.
