Protagonist Frey will be using her parkour skills accentuated by magic, when navigating the lands of Athea.

The normal sprint is the magical ability Flow. It uses up stamina (the diamonds on the HUD at the lower-left of the screen).

Rush gives a burst of faster movement, and refills the stamina bar.

Shimmy lets Frey kicks off from the ground while twirling in the air, consuming no stamina.

Frey can also Float, softening any landing by slowly falling at the cost of stamina.

Glide summons a magical board where Frey can glide over water.

Zip is the grappling hook mechanic where Frey can hook to the ground or specific Zip points.

Soar lets Frey jump multiple times, more than just a double jump.

Scale is a crouch high-jump.

All the traversal options can be used alongside her other magical abilities during combat.

It looks like there’s no short of movement and traversal options in Forspoken. How will players able to make use of all the different moves and magic spells seamlessly remains to be seen.

Forspoken will be out on January 24, 2023 for the PS5 and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store).
