NFL Season 2022 Betting Picks & Analysis: Winners for Week 6

Did you expect the Dallas Cowboys to go to Los Angeles and shut down the defending Super Bowl champions? I also did not expect the New York Giants to mount a late comeback and beat the Green Bay Packers in London, but they did. Darius Slayton was a major factor, catching six of seven targets to pick up 79 yards. And what about Taysom Hill? He appeared in multiple roles for the New Orleans Saints on Sunday and ended up with four touchdowns, including one touchdown pass and three more on the ground. Baltimore Ravens (-5) at N.Y. Giants
(1:00 pm ET, CBS)

Watching Daniel Jones take hit after hit while stepping into quality throws down the field was a revelation, and with Saquon Barkley pounding the ball, the Giants are suddenly part of the contender conversation. This is the best start for a Giants team in 13 years. It’s important to note that they have beaten the Titans on a last-second missed field goal, the Bears and a Carolina team that just fired their head coach, but that fourth win came over Aaron Rodgers. The Giants had an option to take a bye week after their trip to London, as most will do, but the Giants declined that option. Only seven teams have played the week after their trip across the Atlantic Ocean, and five of those went into the next week as the favorite. Underdogs went 0-2, and the Giants are an underdog here. One more tip – Lamar Jackson has gone 12-0 against NFC teams since becoming the starting quarterback in 2018. Ravens to win and cover.

 

Buffalo Bills (-3) at Kansas City Chiefs
(4:25 pm ET, CBS)

This is the rematch of last year’s AFC divisional playoff, when the teams started scoring at Cyberball speed in the fourth quarter, scoring 25 combined points in the last two minutes of regulation. Buffalo scored with 13 seconds left, but they couldn’t keep the Chiefs from getting a game-tying field goal, and then the Chiefs marched down the field on the first drive of overtime to take the win. It seemed like Buffalo’s off-season plan basically had one step: adding players who could get them through this sort of game. Von Miller was the most significant addition because of his ability to get pressure on the quarterback. Given that the Chiefs almost fell apart against a one-win Raiders team, the Bils’ momentum should continue through Week 6. Bills to win and cover.

 

Dallas Cowboys (+5) at Philadelphia Eagles
(8:20 pm ET, NBC)

Cooper Rush has started five games at quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys in his career. One of those came last year in Minnesota, and then he has started in Weeks 2-5 this season in relief of the injured Dak Prescott. He has gone 5-0 in those starts, giving him the best career start for any quarterback in Dallas Cowboys history. He should have plenty of confidence after beating the Rams in Los Angeles, even though the Philadelphia Eagles look much better than the RAms through five games. Prescott is supposed to start throwing a football on Wednesday, but there are still questions about his ability to grip a football with that surgically repaired thumb. Dallas is excelling because of its defense right now, which is permitting just 14.4 points per game, third in the NFL. The Eagles are fifth overall in points, averaging 27 per game, but it’s not like Dallas has been beating soft teams. They have played Tampa Bay, Cincinnati and the Rams, and they have held all of them below 20 points. Can Dallas make it five wins in a row? I think people who pick Dallas are sleeping on the Eagles a bit, but five points seems a bit high. Dallas to cover.
