NSE And Intel Announce FutureGen Careers Program For Students
There’s some good news for students seeking a pathway into one of the many and varied career opportunities within esports.
The National Student Esports (NSE) has revealed that it has renewed its esports and gaming-focused student programme FutureGen.
Teaming up with the hardware manufacturer Intel for the collaboration, the programme will offer a number of workshops, guest speakers and one-to-one sessions for a select group of students to learn about the different career paths available within the gaming and esports industry.
A unique aspect of the program is the ability for students to pair up with insiders from within the esports and gaming industries to learn more about the different skills and opportunities that lie within the many different facets of each.
This is the buddy system that has proved to be such a success in previous FutureGen programs.
Applications to enrol on the program are invited from any full-time student studying full-time at a UK-based university.
Third Year For Intel & NSE FutureGen
After expanding the program last year to allow 20 students to participate in it, National Student Esports has confirmed that the program will once again be open to 20 students for 2023.
It will be the third year that this important program has been run.
The program consists of a wide variety of experiences for those enrolled on the program.
While some of the program will be conducted digitally in a variety of forms, there will also be a range of guest speakers, visits to esports and gaming organisations as well as a number of other experiences.
Students will not only have guest speakers present to them, but following their presentation, the students will have a one-to-one opportunity to ask the speaker any questions they may have about any part of the industry; from asking what could be some of the next generation of esports games, to how the Metaverse could alter the esports experience in future and more.
NSE has confirmed that its experts for the program this year will come from a wide range of companies engaged within the esports and gaming industries.
Representatives from Xbox, Ubisoft, FACEIT and Unity are amongst those confirmed to be participating in the program and their specialisms include a variety of different disciplines including marketing, finance, management and reporting.
Talented Individuals
The Managing Director at NSE, Alex Coulson, reflected on the success of the past program and looked forward to the 2023 version.

Another Important Partnership For Intel
The deal with the NSE is another big deal for Intel in 2022 and comes after Intel teamed up with EPIC.LAN back in January.
That deal cemented Intel’s place at the heart of the British esports community with EPIC.LAN being the chosen tournament platform provider for the British Esports Association, who have already stressed the importance of attracting high quality students and graduates to different roles within the esports industry.
