PSG.LGD receive draft penalty from Valve for the entire Day 3 of TI11 group stage

PSG.LGD will play the three series that they have on the schedule for Day 3 of The International 2022 (TI11) group stage with multiple draft penalties after failing to report a COVID case in time.

According to an announcement made on their Weibo page at the end of Day 2 of the TI11 group stage, PSG.LGD’s General Manager has been tested positive for COVID on the 13th of October, two days before the group stage matches had even begun. But, while he immediately self-isolated, the organization failed to immediately report the case to Valve as they said he is not a part of the official list of eight people at TI11 for whom Valve secures the accommodation and all privileges. However, he is a part of the entourage that accompanies the team in Singapore at The International 2022 and therefore he got in contact with the players prior to testing positive for COVID.

Due to failing to report the positive test in time, PSG.LGD will play Day 3 of the group stage with multiple penalties.

The team has a total of three series scheduled for Day 3 and the penalties will apply as follows:

In the same Weibo post, the organization specifies that all players and the entire PSG.LGD staff present in Singapore have undergone nucleic acid tests and all came negative.

PSG.LGD made a great recovery on Day 2 by claiming much-needed wins to keep their hopes alive for an upper-bracket start in the playoffs and are looking to keep the momentum going in what can be the decisive day for them in terms of playoffs seeds.
