Sucker Punch shares never-before-seen footage from Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima developer, Sucker Punch, has shared never-before-seen footage of the game’s Legends co-op mode. In a tell-all post over on the Official PlayStation Blog, Senior Game Designer Darren Bridges talks fans through the studio’s creation of Legends.

It’s a long read, charting the mode’s journey from design phase through to its execution. A large part of Sucker Punch’s success is how the team’s philosophy on co-operative embeds itself in the mechanics and systems from Ghost of Tsushima Legends. While some gamers wrote it off as a bolt-on multiplayer component, development on Legends started back in 2016 and its clear to see just how much thought and passion went into it.

One interesting point highlighted is how co-op coexists with the game’s singleplayer campaign. Instead of having 4 versions of Jin Sakai swarm each match, Sucker Punch imbued Legends with a supernatural theme, allowing it to stand out from the story campaign, both in terms of visual style and the gameplay abilities available.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends got its latest major free content update back in October, which was a new survival mode map. This new arena, Blood and Steel, sees groups of up to four warriors face off waves of Oni attackers on Iki Island. There has been a lot of content released for Ghost of Tsushima since its release, and you can check out our guides below.
