With the 2022 CDL regular season in the books, it’s time to break down the top three players who are on the hunt for the MVP title.

McArthur “Cellium” Jovel
Like last year, Cellium has continued his dominance on the sticks. Not only has he been the best player this season, but the most consistent as well. This season, he is averaging the league’s highest overall kill/death ratio (1,22), but also the highest average in Hardpoint (1.25) and SND (1.20), and only second in Control (1.18).
Unfortunately, Cellium and the Atlanta FaZe boys have failed to win a championship this year, but with them sitting atop the CDL standings, they’re looking to bring one home at the year’s final event.
Even without a championship this year, Cellium has proven why he deserves to be called the best player in the game, but some think otherwise.

Brandon “Dashy” Otell
Splitting the MVP race voting with Cellium is OpTic Texas’s Dashy.
Only being second in overall kill/death ratio over the season with a 1.20, and top seven in the highest kill/death ratios for all three game modes. Dashy has had an unbelievable Vanguard season. Dealing with constant roster changes, he has remained consistent throughout all the ups and downs of the year.
Although OpTic has seen better days in terms of placings at events, Dashy has looked better than ever. If he can play like he has all season and if his supporting cast shows up, OpTic should be a threat when it comes Champs time.

Chris “Simp” Lehr
It has been a somewhat quiet year for the Simp. Don’t get me wrong, he is still one of the best player in the league, but he hasn’t hit that MVP level we are used to seeing.
As reigning 2021 CDL MVP, Simp has failed to crack the top three in the MVP race until Major 4. Not only has his team failed to win a championship, but his individual stats have also dropped since last year. He is sitting just inside the top 15 for the overall kill/death ratio with a 1.05. Something we’re not used to seeing from him.
Regardless, during Major 4, Simp showed the community why he is one of the best players in the world.
