Far Cry 6’s Joseph: Collapse DLC is out next week

The third and final DLC expansion for Far Cry 6’s Season Pass will release next week. Joseph: Collapse is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Stadia and PC on 8th February.

As with the first two DLC, this resurrects one of the villains from a previous Far Cry game for you to play as. Joseph: Collapse obviously casts you as Joseph Seed from Far Cry 5, dropping you into an even more twisted version of Hope County. The expansion will lean on the roguelite genre as you dive into Joseph’s mind and face off against cult followers as he struggles with his faith and inner demons.

This DLC is playable in co-op and, in a touch that is always nice to see, includes a Buddy Pass. This means that someone who owns the DLC can invite another player that does not own the DLC to join their co-op session for free. The caveat is that you must be playing on the same platform and they will (obviously) need to own Far Cry 6.

Ubisoft have thrown the game on sale to celebrate, with up to 40% off are currently applied to all Far Cry 6 editions on digital stores, and 25% off the Season Pass.

Given that it follows so closely in the footsteps of the first two DLC, we expect to have similar conclusions to our time with Vaas: Insanity and Pagan: Control. For the second of these expansions, Gamoc said:

“Pagan: Control is… pretty good. It’s just a bit underwhelming as it retreads the formula from the first DLC, albeit with a different villain to play as that might be more or less to your liking. The roguelite idea seemed to make sense in Vaas’ insane mind, but just doing it again here diminishes some of that novelty. It’s like one good idea is being stretched across more than one DLC.”

Meanwhile, for our review for Far Cry 6, he wrote:

“Far Cry 6 feels like a sequel that was made because there needed to be a sequel, that’s making changes because it needs to show progress. The previous three numbered games in the series felt like they had their own identity and tried to offer more and more options to the player, but Far Cry 6 is a lateral move towards something that isn’t quite the Far Cry I originally loved.”
