Farm Like A Fighter In Harvestella, Coming To PC And Switch This November

A life sim game where you play as a farmer tending their homestead is normal. Having such a game with some combat elements is also done before. But what if that combat aspect goes full-on action RPG with a job system to boot?

That’s the pitch for Harvestella, a new game from Square Enix announced at the June 2022 Nintendo Direct Mini.

In the world of Harvestella, there are four giant crystals, the Seaslight, which create the four seasons. However, something abnormal happened to the Seaslight, creating “Quietus”- a season of death where crops wither and people cannot go outside.

Harvestella lets you do all the usual things a farming or life sim game allows you- tend crops, cook and craft, visit the town, and most importantly, go fishing. There will be seasonal changes that affect the look of the world.

You can also go on dungeon crawling. You can pick Jobs like the Fighter, Shadow Walker and Mage. Heading into dungeons will see you engage in action-RPG combat, and also learn more about the world.

The concept art is done by Isamu Kamikokuryo (of Final Fantasy XII fame) and its music, interestingly by Go Shiina, from the Tales series.

Harvestella will be out on November 4 on Nintendo Switch and November 5 on PC via Steam.
