Jameson Williams Among 5 Players Suspended for Gambling

Five NFL players have been suspended for violations of the NFL’s gambling policy. Along with the Commanders’ Shaka Toney, four Lions are suspended, including second year wide receiver Jameson Williams.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Friday.

Safety C.J. Moore, wide receiver Quintez Cephus and defensive end Toney are all suspended indefinitely. Their suspensions will likely be at least full year. Williams and fellow receiver, Stanley Berryhill are suspended for six games.

Reportedly, Williams’ and Berryhill’s suspensions are shorter because they placed mobile bets on non-NFL games from an NFL facility, which is prohibited. Williams already missed a good chunk of his first season due to injury rehab. Now he’ll miss under half of his second.
