Capcom has put a release date on Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. It’s a mega collection of 10 games from the series, originally released on the Nintendo DS and 3DS, for current platforms.

Mega Man Battle Network is an RPG like no other (Capcom calls it “Data Action RPG”) in the way its combat works. It’s part deck-building card game, and part action game where you and your opponent dance around a 3×3 grid to get in position for an attack or avoid them.

Outside of that, the series follows the story of Lan in the real world, and Mega Man.exe in the Cyber World. The series also has a Pokemon-style release in that there are multiple versions of the same game (hence why there are 10 games across six numbered releases).

The Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will have online multiplayer. This will include NetBattles as well as trading.

NetBattles, online matches, including matchmaking for two different lobbies, “Practice” (casual play) and “Real Thing” (ranked). Players can also battle with friends directly by setting up a room code for private matches.

Trading allows players to exchange Battle Chips (cards), Styles, Programs and Folders. You can set up Private Trade with friends, or do a Public Trade with anyone across the world.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection does not support cross-play. The Switch version supports Local Communication.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will be out on April 14, 2023 for the PS4, PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. The game’s physical version includes all 10 games, but if you’re buying digital, it can be purchased as two separate volumes (Vol.1 includes Battle Network 1-3, Vol.2 includes Battle Network 4-6)
