MultiVersus: How To Play Taz

Taz in MultiVersus fills the stage with a sense of wackiness. His attacks can turn enemies into roasted chicken and he can heal teammates by licking them. Players shouldn’t let the silliness of his nature fool them as a good Taz will deal heavy damage to opponents. Taz can put a lot of pressure on his enemies.

His aggressive play style lets him chase down his foes and land early kills on them. This guide will show players how they can land quick kills on their opponents and make the most out of Taz. Players will learn what moves to jump in with, build damage, and how to ring out the enemy player.

These are all of Taz’s moves and how to use them efficiently:

Chew Em Up, Spit Em Out(Neutral Ground Special)

  • Taz will eat enemies which will disable them.
    • Every time the input is pressed again or down is pressed he will chew on enemies and deal damage.
    • Press the up, forward, or back input to spit out enemies.
    • Enemies can struggle by pressing buttons to escape.
  • He can eat and digest projectiles.
    • Taz will gain that projectile for his down special with every projectile he eats.
    • The input can be held for Taz to open his mouth for longer.

Eating On The Fly (Neutral Air Special)

  • The attack is similar to the neutral ground special but won’t be able to chew them.
  • This move isn’t terrible but Taz has better air attacks.

Taz-Nado (Side Special)

  • Taz will do a tornado attack that hits enemies multiple times
  • If he goes by an ally he’ll be able to do it for longer.
    • It also makes his ally quicker.
  • In the air, it’s the same except it slightly angles itself upward.
  • On its cooldown, it lasts a lot less time and doesn’t give teammates benefits.
  • This move is great as it has a huge hitbox and priority over many moves.

 Dogpile! Dogpile! (Up Special)

  • Taz creates a cloud-like dogpile that slowly grows larger and hits enemies that get trapped in it multiple times.
    • The last hit does big damage
    • If all of the hits land the move can kill enemies at around 120.
  • When the move is on a cooldown then Taz will jump up and swipe up two times.
    • It’s really hard to kill or do damage with this move so players might not want to use it often.
  • This attack is an amazing ledge guard and can suck up opponents who are trying to climb back onto the stage.

You Spit What You Eat (Down Ground Special)

  • Taz will burp a chewed apple that will deal a little bit of damage and TastyTasty takes 16 stacks for an enemy to become Cooked.
    • Whenever an enemy is Cooked they will turn into a chicken and won’t be able to attack. Enemies that are Cooked also drop pieces of chicken that will heal Taz and his allies.
  • If Taz has eaten a projectile he can use this attack to spit it back out and deal a large amount of Tasty.
  • The move is quick and can be used to add some well-placed stacks of Tasty or do chip damage.
  • The move in the air is the same as the ground.

Attacks

 Soup’s On! (Neutral Ground Attack)

  • Taz will drink a pot of soup while ArmoredArmor will make it so that enemies can’t hit him out of the attack with a basic attack–which charges a spit projectile.
    • The spit can be aimed.
    • At full charge, it will deal 6 stacks of tasty.
    • This is a great move to try and quickly get enemies into the Cooked state so players should use it when an opening presents itself.

Souper-Er Spinner (Neutral Air Attack)

  • Taz will drink soup and then spit it out in a circle damaging enemies in front or behind him.

Well-Seasoned (Side Ground Attack)

  • Taz will take out salt and pepper doing a combo that turns into a quick tornado spin.
    • Each hit will deal 1 stack of tasty.
  • This move is great for opening combos.

Feed The Beast (Side Air Attack)

  • Taz will attack with a forward bite that can be charged.
  • This does good damage and if an enemy is off the stage can kill early.

Slam-Wich (Up Ground Attack)

  • He will do an attack that hits overhead dealing Tasty.
    • Taz can move while he charges this attack.
    • If it’s fully charged it will do 4 stacks of Tasty.
  • This attack is great for getting vertical kills when an enemy character is at high health.
  • Players can use this move as an anti-air against opponents.

Flying Slam-Wich (Up Air Attack)

  • The same as the ground attack except it won’t be able to charge.
  • This move is great for killing enemies at high health who are playing in the air.

Stomp Stomp Stomp! (Down Ground Attack)

  • Taz charges a stomp that will break Armor.
    • The longer Taz charges the further the stomp will hit.

Sunder Down Under (Down Air Attack)

  • Taz does a downward attack that makes his legs into a tornado, drills downward, and breaks Armor.
  • This will be Taz’s main spike move to edge guard.
  • This move is an amazing opener as it deals big damage when it hits.

Tips

Here are more tips to understand all of Taz’s fundamentals:

  • Taz does not need to use combos often to win as a lot of his moves naturally deal big damage though combos do help when enemies are at lower health.
  • Players should try and get opponents to the Cooked state as often as possible.
    • Cooked state can guarantee a kill most of the time if the player learns to track the enemy and land big moves like Dogpile! Dogpile!
  • Taz has close range on a lot of his moves so players need to learn to practice his different hitboxes.
  • In doubles, players should remember that Taz can heal allies as he passes by them.
    • This has a cooldown.
  • Taz has one of the best ledge guards so any time an opponent is off of the stage Taz should try and follow them off it and attack them.
    • This can cause many early game kills.
  • Players need to play aggressively with Taz and remember that his stacks of Tasty deteriorate if players stop landing hits.

Combos
