NFL Draft Prospects in the 2024 Reliaquest Bowl

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2024 Reliaquest Bowl.

Wisconsin Badgers Draft Prospects

Jack Nelson, OT

Nelson joined Wisconsin in 2020 and redshirted after appearing in one game. He jumped into the starting lineup at right guard in 2021 and was a Big Ten Honorable Mention. Nelson moved to left tackle in 2022 and was again a Big Ten Honorable Mention. He stayed at Wisconsin in 2023 and helped the team make a bowl game.

At 6-foot-7 and 311 pounds, he has solid size for an NFL offensive tackle. He has solid length to help him control matchups. Nelson has shown good run blocking over his time at Wisconsin. The offensive scheme change will help show his versatility.

Projected Draft Range: 4th Round Pick-6th Round Pick

Ricardo Hallman, CB

Hallman signed with Wisconsin in 2021 and played in three games before redshirting. He started eight games in 2022 and has held that spot. In his career, he has totaled 40 total tackles, seven interceptions and nine passes defended. This season, Hallman has totaled 30 total tackles, six interceptions and five passes defended.

He stands at 5-foot-10 and 173 pounds, which is smaller for an NFL corner. Hallman may need to be a nickel corner because of his size, but could also add some strength to matchup with outside receivers. He has shown great ball skills specifically this season.

Projected Draft Range: 5th Round Pick-7th Round Pick

*RB Braelon Allen has opted out of this bowl game. He is a projected day two pick.

Other Draft Prospects: IOL Tanor Bartolini (6th-UFA), RB Chez Mellusi (6th-UFA), OT Riley Mahlman (UFA), OT Trey Wedig (UFA), IOL Jake Renfro (UFA), LB Maema Njongmeta (UFA), QB Tanner Mordecai (UFA), CB Jason Maitre (UFA), IOL Michael Furtney (UFA)

LSU Tigers Draft Prospects

Malik Nabers, WR

Nabers signed with LSU in 2021 and immediately earned playing time. In his career, he has 186 receptions for 2,980 yards and 21 touchdowns. This season, Nabers has had his best season yet with 86 receptions for 1,546 yards and 14 touchdowns.

At 6-foot and 200 pounds, he has decent size for an NFL receiver. He has good speed and has shown the ability to separate. With the ball in his hands, he is threat to pick up extra yardage. He will be one of the first wide receivers selected in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Projected Draft Range: 1st Round Pick

Brian Thomas Jr., WR

Thomas joined LSU in LSU and also saw the field right away. In his LSU career, he has 119 catches for 1,799 yards and 22 touchdowns. This season, he has hauled in 60 passes for 1,079 yards and 15 touchdowns.

He has excellent size for an NFL receiver at 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds. His size allows him to be a matchup problem for defensive backs and could make that more of an advantage with added strength. Thomas has had a great season in 2023 to really boost his draft stock.
