It’s time for another Spotlight hour in Pokemon Go, and this time around Niantic has quite a special Pokemon for fans out there.
For the last Spotlight Hour of 2022, we have Pickachu wearing a TCG hat as the featured Pokemon in the game. The event will kick off at 6 pm local time and unlike some of the other events in the game, it will get over merely within an hour, at 7 pm local time. Niantic always organizes these events according to local time, so players in some regions will be getting it earlier than the others. The event will be boosting the spawn rate of Pickachu wearing a TCG hat, so it is the best opportunity to catch this rare variant of Pikachu if you don’t have it already.

Every Spotlight Hour also contains a special bonus event, which gives players an added reward on top of the boosted spawn rates. The reward for this week is twice the amount of Stardust players usually get while catching Pokemon. As usual, the Stardust bonus is not restricted to Pickachu wearing a TCG hat, and you will get the bonus amount while catching other Pokemon as well.
Last but not the least, the shiny status of Pickachu wearing a TCG hat. The good news is that a shiny variant of this Pokemon is available in the game, so if you don’t have one, it is worth a shot to try out your luck. The shiny rates aren’t boosted during the event, but the increased frequency of spawn increases your odds to get a shiny Pokemon.
