Solo Leveling is one of the most popular Korean manhwas of this decade, which concluded last year after giving us 179 incredible chapters. Since D&C Webtoon’s series burst into popularity, fans have wondered if the manhwa would get an anime adaptation.

A few days after its final chapter’s release, some rumors surfaced on the internet that Solo Leveling is indeed getting an anime. However, at the time, there was no official statement from any animation studio or D&C regarding the same. Anyway, five months after manhwa’s conclusion, we finally have official confirmation for Solo Leveling anime. On the second day of Anime Expo 2022, Aniplex, A1 Pictures, and Crunchyroll announced that the anime adaptation is now currently in production.

Solo Leveling will air on Crunchyroll, and it is set to release sometime in 2023. Unfortunately, the studio didn’t give us an exact release date, but we do have something else that might get you thrilled for the anime. Apparently, Crunchyroll has released a new teaser to announce the anime adaptation. The promo video doesn’t have any clips from the anime and only features some incredible panels from the manhwa. However, we do have a teaser visual that gives us the first look at the story’s main protagonist, Jin-Woo.

DUBU, one of the original creators of Solo Leveling, also shared his excitement about the anime adaptation. “Solo Leveling is finally making its anime debut. It feels like only yesterday that we got the offer for the anime adaptation. I feel so overwhelmed when I think that the anime is really being created right now,” said DUBU in his statement.

A-1 Pictures will work on Solo Leveling’s animation, and Shunsuke Nakashige will take the director’s seat. According to the announcement, Noboru Kimura is working on the script while Tomoko Sudo is taking charge of the character design. Apart from that, we don’t know much about the anime’s production, and the studio has yet to reveal the main cast of Solo leveling. Of course, everyone is going restless to find out who’ll voice Jin-Woo in the series, but we’ll have to wait a little longer to get that answer.
