At The Game Awards 2022, PlayStation revealed an expansion coming to Guerrilla’s open-world game Horizon Forbidden West.

Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores sees Aloy continues her journey south of the Tenakth Clan Lands, which means we’ll be seeing the ruins of Los Angeles.

Like most of the locales in the west side of this post-post-apocalyptic world, the new lands are mostly sunken in water, and you’ll be exploring most of it on the back of a Sunwing- the robo-bird seen in the trailer. A massive machine is seen lurking, gobbling up the Hollywood sign.

Props to the development team for having to go and license the Hollywood sign- you can even see the fine print at the end of the trailer.

While Horizon Forbidden West is a cross-gen title available on PS4 and PS5, the Burning Shores expansion is only available on PS5, as stated on the PlayStation Blog.

Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores expansion will be out on April 19, 2023. You can find what we thought of Horizon Forbidden West in our review here.
