Square Enix has dropped a demo for its upcoming strategy RPG The DioField Chronicle, as promised previously.

The demo is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam). The Switch also received the demo for NA and EU regions.

The demo contains the prologue, as well as Episodes 1 and 2 of Chapter 1 (Chapter 1 will feature five episodes in the full game).

This portion of the demo will see the story of Andrias Ruondarson, Fredret Lester and Izelair Wigan joining the mercenary unit, and meet Iscarion Colchester, the “self-styled ‘knight errant’ and talented sharpshooter”.

As you can expect, The DioField Chronicle’s demo should give a sampler of its real-time tactical battle. Turrets need to be activated (and can be done faster when more units do so together), explosive kegs can be exploded and used to your advantage, and enemies may be hiding behind barricades. These are are considered “stage gimmicks” which you will find in Chapter 1, and something that must must be taken in consideration when in battle.

The DioField Chronicle demo can be downloaded now. It’s available on PS5 here, PS4 here, on Xbox consoles here, and on Steam here.

The DioField Chronicle launches on September 22 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
