Street Fighter 6 Has Another Control Type For Button Mashers That Only Works Offline

Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 was previously revealed to have two different control styles, the Classic and the Modern (which simplifies special move inputs). But apparently, as revealed by Game Informer, there’s another control option.

The third control option, Dynamic, goes even harder on simplifying controls to the point that you only need to mash buttons. So instead of randomly mashing buttons hoping that you get a neat combo, novice players can meaningfully mash buttons and some neat combo will happen. The AI will determine what kind of move to do based on the range of the opponent.

Thankfully, Dynamic Control is only available offline for local play. This means this is designed to rope a friend or family member to give the game a try but still give them a fighting chance. Capcom is currently balancing Modern controls to be as viable as Classic controls, but Dynamic is for pure video game fun- not esports.

Several other fighting games have introduced auto-combos which produce a string of attacks and special moves all by mashing the same button repeatedly (but balanced out by dealing less damage compared to doing the same combo manually). Street Fighter 6 takes that up several notches with this Dynamic control option.

Street Fighter 6 will be out in 2023 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.
