“The Sus Guy” Finally Plays Among Us

Twitch streamer Jerma985 has been, for better or worse, largely associated with the image of “when the imposter is sus” meme.

The meme, featuring a mangled-up, highly-edited image of the streamer went viral during the heights of Among Us being one of the most popular games ever in 2020, right around the lockdowns amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

The joke was that Jerma himself, “The Sus Guy”, has never actually played, let alone stream Among Us- where its popularity boomed thanks to various streamers playing the social deception game.

He may be the face of the Sus Guy, but never had any intention of playing that game, until the announcement of Among Us VR.

Now that Among Us VR is out, Jerma has cashed out on the joke by actually doing the thing: The Sus Guy finally plays Among Us.

Not only that, the whole Twitch channel leans into the bit, where it has rebranded with “The Sus Guy” art and logo, only for that one day when he streamed Among Us.

As you can expect, the whole stream is the perspective of a newcomer. It’s a rare sight considering almost all the big streamers that are interested in Among Us have played Among Us, so you can see a lot of the now-rare rookie mistakes and oopsies being made.

And that is on top of the usual Jerma shenanigans. A recurring character named “BallFondler” (long story) stream sniped the stream to the confusion of the other streamers in the lobby, for example. And makes sure everyone hear it when he says “sus” as this is the first and last time he’s doing this bit ever.

Other than being known as “The Sus Guy”, Jerma has recently produced high-concept Twitch streams, including the Jerma Dollhouse Stream where Twitch viewers get to control him in a The Sims-esque dollhouse, and the Baseball Stream where a team of clowns and magicians played baseball.
