Yes 5G Bringing Cloud Gaming To Malaysia Via GeForce Now

Is Malaysia ready for cloud gaming? Apparently, Yes. Yes 5G to be precise.

Yes 5G, the Malaysia telco brand by YTL Communications will be bringing Nvidia’s GeForce Now to the country.

GeForce Now allows various devices, from web browsers to phones, to play the latest video games via cloud gaming. Instead of running the game on the current hardware, the game is running on a server while the device essentially streams a video feed of that game.

GeForce Now supports over 1,400 titles including big-budget AA hits like Cyberpunk 2077 and Far Cry 6, as well as free-to-play titles like Fortnite and Genshin Impact.

You will need to own the PC games to stream on GeForce Now, but rather than a separate purchase, you just need to link your account on Steam, Epic Games Store and other supported PC games launcher account. So no, it’s not as terrible as how Stadia did it.

Cloud gaming requires some serious bandwidth in order to attain a playable, non-laggy experience. So it’s a surprise to see Malaysia is ready for the tech.
