Skull And Bones Delayed To March 2023, But Open Beta Is Coming Soon

Ubisoft’s upcoming pirate ship game Skull And Bones is still not ready for the high seas. The publisher announced a delay for the game that was set to release this November.

Skull And Bones is now set to release on March 9, 2023.

Here’s the statement by Ubisoft on the delay:

“While the game development is finished at this stage, the extra time will be used to further polish and balance the experience using players’ feedback from our Technical tests and Insider Program which happened over the past two weeks.

“This is the right decision both for our players and for the long-term success of the game as March 9, 2023 provides for a suitable release window for this very unique new brand.”

The good news is that an open beta will now be scheduled before the game’s release, allowing everyone to try out Ubisoft Singapore’s maiden voyage of shipping a game. Hopefully, the game will set sail smoothly and not end up as a shipwreck. No date for the open beta is even at the moment.

Skull And Bones is set in the 17th century Indian Ocean, during the height of piracy. You are out here to make a name for yourself, climb the ranks to be a mighty pirate yourself and crew a ship. Gameplay mostly takes place on the open seas where you control the ship, but you can visit and explore some locales on foot.

Skull And Bones will release on March 9, 2023 for the PS5, PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store), and Xbox Series X|S.
