Samsung Malaysia Electronics announced that its flagship gaming monitor, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8, is heading to Malaysia.
First revealed at IFA 2022, the Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung’s first OLED gaming monitor. It’s a 34-inch panel outputting at 1440p resolution with a low response time of 0.1ms and can output up to 175Hz refresh rate.
It’s also an ultrawide monitor (21:9 aspect ratio), a curved monitor (1800R) at is rated 100% colour volume, DCI-99.3%, VESA DisplayHDR400 True Black Certified and has AMD FreeSync Premium.
You can use the Odyssey OLED G8 as a regular TV as well, as it can stream content through Samsung’s Smart Hub, which includes apps like Amazon Prime, Netflix, YouTube and more.
Interestingly, it uses a Micro HDMI port and Mini DisplayPort for its I/O, as well as the usual USB Type-C port.s The monitor supports HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4.
It won’t be cheap, as you might expect. The starting price for the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 gaming monitor (model code LS34BG850SEXXS) is a whopping RM7,599.
Pre-orders are now open, and should you do so from November 10-20, you’ll get a Soundbar HW-B450 worth RM799 as well. This can be done via the Samsung Online Store, Lazada Samsung Brand Store and Shopee Samsung Brand Store.
