Awaceb’s upcoming open world adventure sandbox game Tchia continues to look charming, and this new gameplay trailer continues to do its thing. But this time, with a glimpse of how the moment-to-moment gameplay.

It should be no surprise that Tchia will play like your typical open world game. The island is filled with activities and hotspots. And there is a combat mechanic in the game. Tchia, the titular protagonist, is seen clearing a mob of enemies. These enemies are “strange fabric creatures called the Maano, who under the orders of the archipelago’s evil ruler, have abducted her father.”

Tchia can wield a slingshot, as well as throw objects to fight against the Maano.

Traversal in Tchia will likely evoke comparisons to two The Legend Of Zelda games, Breath Of The Wild and Wind Waker. The free-form wall-climbing and the glider are very reminiscent of the former, and there is a raft where Tchia can sail on the sea which is very comparable to the latter.

Tchia has a magical ukulele. By strumming the right notes it can change the time of day, weather and even other magical abilities. Also a mechanic that will remind of you of Zelda.

That said, Tchia, the game, has its own unique tricks. You can climb up a tree, shake it and then launch yourself far away from the shaking momentum. There’s also the soul-jumping ability, where Tchia can posses any object or animal. The gameplay video even showcases a trick where you can grab an object from the backpack inventory, possess as it, then launch the object using soul launch, and then unpossess it to glide.

Also, if you possess a bird, there’s a dedicated poop button. You can also possess a dolphin that allows you to swim underwater indefinitely, but there is no dedicated poop button if you possess a dolphin.

Lastly, the gameplay video ends with a sweet musical where Tchia brings out the ukulele and play a tune, which turns the segment into a rhythm game. There is an option to auto-play the whole segment.

Tchia is releasing in early 2023 for the PS4, PS5 and PC (Epic Games Store).
